Today we begin our Sunday School for all chidren ages 3 through 8th grade. All children are welcome and expected. You do not need to be a member of Saint Paul to enroll your children. A full schedule of Sunday School will be given out to both the children and their parents on Sunday, September 12.

This service will celebrate the beginning of our 162nd year as a parish family. There will be displays of the various programs and ministries that are present at Saint Paul. The worship service will be a glorious celebration of God's presence in our lives. A lunch in the Mary Elisabeth Bair Parish Center will follow the service.
We will also induct new members of our Legacy Society. These are members of Saint Paul who have indicated that they have remembered the parish in their will and / or other estate planning.

Saint Paul will have a food stand with hot foods and baked good. Come out and support the parish and tell your friends that for the best food on the bridge and for the "largest hot dogs on the bridge" there is only one place to go - the Saint Paul food stand. In addition to our regular "largest hot dogs on Locust Street" we will have the "Bridge Buster Hot Do that weighs in at 1/2 pound. You have to eat it to believe it!!!

Our LARC Covenant calls us to come together to learn from one another and in that spirit the LARC Day of Dialogue this year will feature Father Elias Mallon of the Graymoor Fathers who will speak on "Telling the Christian Story in the 21st Century." He will explore different facets confronting the spread of the Gospel today, from changing demographics, economic problems, political issues in different countries, the rise of Islam, materialism, relativism, New Age, etc. If you would like to go, please see Father Patrick who will take care of the registration and fee. This is a great experience to see three different churches come together in dialogue to learn.

PARISH BUS TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY
Saturday, December 4
We will leave Columbia at 7:00 p.m. and drop off at two places in New York City (Times Square area and South Seaport). You have the whole day to spend in the city as you want. We will leave at 7:30 p.m. (pick up only in the vicinity of Times Square). The cost is $50 and includes the bus, driver's tip, and snacks on the way up and way back. Call the parish office (684-8496) to reserve your space. Members of Saint Paul's have until Tuesday, September 7 to reserve a spot. After that date the bus trip will be opened to anyone in the community.

COLUMBIA CHRISTMAS WALK-A-MILE
Monday, December 13 - 7:00 p.m.
We will begin at Saint Paul Episcopal Church and then walk to The Columbia Presbyterian Church, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Saint Paul Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod), and Saint John Lutheran Church (ELCA). At each church there will be a prayer, Scripture reading, and a hymn. At the end there will be a light reception. Come and experience some of the most historic churches in Columbia.
