Throughout our lives we are asked, in many different ways, to plant a tree that we will never sit under. But we plant the tree so that those who come after us may sit in its shade and be refreshed. Often we do something, not because of any immediate reward or result, but because it is the right thing to do - for those who come after us.
The Saint Paul Legacy Society is a group of people - some from our past and some from today - who have planted trees that they would and will never sit under. They are people who have decided to remember Saint Paul Episcopal Church in their will or other estate planning tools. They know that for us to continue our mission and ministry we need their support and remembrance. It is a group of people who want to be part of the legacy of Saint Paul's.
You can be a member of this supportive and important group. If you would like to become a member of the Saint Paul Legacy Society, just call the parish office (717-684-8496) and ask for a "Planning Giving Form." Complete the form and return it to the parish office throught he Sunday offering or by mail. You do not need to tell us how you will remember the parish or the amount of any bequest - you merely indicate that you have made arrangements in your will or other estate planning tools for Saint Paul Episcopal Church to be remembered.
Each year (normally in September) new members are inducted into the Saint Paul Legacy Society at our Annual Homecoming and Open House Eucharist.
If you would like more information about the ways you can remember Saint Paul's please call the office and we will send you materials or see your estate planner.
